Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and India were also among the top source markets for Dubai tourism in the previous year.
In the previous year, respectively, Dubai received 1.84 million, 1.21 million, 1.04 million, and 356,000 visitors from India, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and Pakistan.
The Dubai 2040 Urban Master Plan seeks to boost tourism in the emirate by more than 100%. In line with the UAE Tourism Plan, which aims to bring in 40 million visitors by 2031 and boost the sector's contribution to the emirate's GDP to Dh450 billion, it will introduce new projects.
At the most recent Tripadvisor Travellers' Choice Awards 2023, the city was named the top worldwide destination. The city took first place for the second year in a row, making it just the second city in history to accomplish the feat.
Dubai was also chosen in 2022 as one of 20 locations worldwide as part of Airbnb's Live and Work Anywhere programme, which sought to discover the locations with the best conditions for remote workers.
